Habitat gardens 101

In this talk, we’ll explore ways in which your yard is already providing habitat for wildlife such as pollinators and birds and ways in which we can create even more opportunities for our non-human neighbors.

Invasive plants in the ‘burbs: why it matters and what to do

The former homeowner planted burning bush. The local park has a dense stand of Japanese knotweed. What do you mean, beach rose isn’t native?! We’ll discuss why we need to be able to recognize and respond to the invasive plants in our neighborhoods. This talk will also cover management strategies appropriate to some of the most common species we find in Maine.
